ENGAGE
Enhancing Neurobehavioural Gains with the Aid of Games and Exercise (ENGAGE), is a play-based self-regulation intervention for children aged 3-5 transitioning from Early Childhood Education into Schools. Self-regulation describes a set of internal skills that control thoughts, emotions and behaviours. Self-regulation skills are most-commonly utilised when we are presented with challenging, stressful or emotionally challenging situations.
Focus - To update teachers on the ENGAGE programme, current research and findings.
To share tips, tricks, and variations that have been made by teachers for teachers. This will be an opportunity to hear how other teachers are using the games in their classrooms and ask any questions around implementing ENGAGE.
All are welcome. Please add your name to the agenda to let us know numbers.
During 2020 two of our Manaiakalani Innovative Teachers harnessed ENGAGE to focus their Teaching as Inquiry and shared progress on their blog.
